The Value of Our Work - Cleaning

To many of us, it looks like an ordinary room that shouldn't be hard to clean. But how do we handle those used syringes? And what about the biomedical waste, like urine and blood samples? Clinical areas in a hospital need a different kind of cleaning -- clinical cleaning. Clinical cleaners are specially trained in how to handle clinical waste. But even in non-clinical areas, cleaning has to be thorough and frequent, not only to slow the spread of colds and flu, but to protect patients with compromised immune systems. A recent U.S. study found that unsanitary conditions was the third biggest killer in American hospitals. Cleanliness is an important factor in patient health -- too important to be contracted out.
