Maintenance personnel know the physical plants of Hamilton's hospitals inside and out. They can maintain and repair heating and cooling, plumbing, electrical and other necessary systems throughout the hospitals. Perhaps even more important than their ability for our hospitals' maintenance workers, is their awareness of how to keep the hospitals safe. For example, all trades people are trained in infection control. In a hospital, systems such as ventilation may need to be isolated in particular areas where repairs are made. Our maintenance members know the procedures that keep every part of the hospital safe.
